End of Summer Activities

Attention TCES Students!

The PTA Reflections theme for 2018-19 has been announced!  This year’s theme is “Heroes Around Me.” As you take time to relax and spend time with your family this summer, begin thinking about what that theme will inspire you to create.  Maybe an original song, a dance, or even an original film.  Unleash your creativity to celebrate the heroes in our lives!  More detailed information will be sent out at the start of the school year.  Parents- if anyone is interested in being a part of a small committee to plan the Reflections contest for the upcoming school year, please email Jen Maddux (jamaddux@me.com) for more information!

Silent Auction Donations

Is your business willing to donate a service or product to support our school? The PTA will host its biggest fundraiser of the year on Friday, November 30 and offer an exciting assortment of items at its silent auction.  All proceeds will go towards the purchase of learning software and other educational items for our students.  Please contact Sheila Stells at sheila.stells@gmail.com if you can help.  Thank you in advance for your support!

Special thanks to all of the families who have pitched in to paint and help.  If you have any tall lamps you would like donate,  please contact Sandra Tartal at Sandra.tartal@gmail.com or Kristen Vithoulkas at vithpk@gmail.com.

Teacher Appreciation Week at Three Chopt

Teacher Appreciation WeekDuring the week of May 7-11, Teacher Appreciation Week, we would like to thank our children’s teachers by recognizing them each day.  If you would like to participate, please look at the schedule below and send things in on the appropriate days.

Now through May 7 – DONATE A $5 GIFTCARD – The PTA is collecting $5 gift card donations to distribute to teachers and staff during Teacher Appreciation Week. Please plan to deliver them to the drop off box in the main office, or you can send them in an envelope marked PTA/Teacher Appreciation Week, anytime until Teacher Appreciation Week.

Monday, May 7 – BRING A CUT FLOWER DAY – Bring a cut flower from your yard (or make or draw one) to give to your teacher.

Tuesday, May 8 –  BRING A THANK YOU CARD DAY – Make a card for your teacher letting them know how much they are appreciated.

Wednesday, May 9 –  WEAR YOUR TEACHER’S FAVORITE COLOR – Find out your teacher’s favorite color and wear it to show your appreciation.

Thursday, May 10 –  SURPRISE TREAT DAY – Please send in a surprise for your teacher…it can be anything you like to make them feel appreciated.  You can surprise them!

Friday, May 11 – LUNCHEON (provided by the PTA) – Parent volunteers will cover the classes from 11:30-12:30, so teachers can enjoy a ballpark-themed lunch together.  If you can help, please let your room parent know.

We love our administrative and resource teachers, too, so please plan to send them thanks if you can (a card or flower on any day would make them feel appreciated).  We also hope to recognize them with $5 gift cards that are donated.

Thank you in advance for making the week special for all of our amazing TCES teachers!

Denim Drive

DENIM_Facebook_Cover_TCESFrom now through April, we will be collecting denim to support the Goodwill of Virginia. This year is the 3rd year of the Goodwill Denim Drive for Henrico County Public Schools. Your donations will help create jobs and job training, provide products to be distributed throughout area Goodwill stores, and raise money through textile recycling to support Goodwill programs.  As an added bonus, cash prizes are awarded to the top three schools in elementary, middle, and high divisions.

Any and all denim items are accepted, no matter the condition.  Kick off your spring cleaning and donate your used denim items to our denim drive.  Ask your neighbors, friends, and family to donate denim items.  You may place the items in the designated bin by (the office).  The PTA will collect, tally, and store denim until the Goodwill drop off dates in mid-late April.
