Popcorn for Teacher’s on Monday
A special thank you to all the volunteers that helped out the final week before the start of school. Our teachers returned to a renovated teacher’s lounge, popcorn treats on Monday and and a breakfast bar on Tuesday.
We hope everyone got a change to stop by our PTA table at Open House today. If you did not, please look for the PTA information on the left side of your child’s back to school folder. Best wishes for a great start to the school year!

The PTA Reflections theme for 2018-19 has been announced! This year’s theme is “Heroes Around Me.” As you take time to relax and spend time with your family this summer, begin thinking about what that theme will inspire you to create. Maybe an original song, a dance, or even an original film. Unleash your creativity to celebrate the heroes in our lives! More detailed information will be sent out at the start of the school year. Parents- if anyone is interested in being a part of a small committee to plan the Reflections contest for the upcoming school year, please email Jen Maddux (jamaddux@me.com) for more information!
Is your business willing to donate a service or product to support our school? Now through May 7 – DONATE A $5 GIFTCARD – The PTA is collecting $5 gift card donations to distribute to teachers and staff during Teacher Appreciation Week. Please plan to deliver them to the drop off box in the main office, or you can send them in an envelope marked PTA/Teacher Appreciation Week, anytime until Teacher Appreciation Week.
Monday, May 7 – BRING A CUT FLOWER DAY – Bring a cut flower from your yard (or make or draw one) to give to your teacher.
Tuesday, May 8 – BRING A THANK YOU CARD DAY – Make a card for your teacher letting them know how much they are appreciated.
Wednesday, May 9 – WEAR YOUR TEACHER’S FAVORITE COLOR – Find out your teacher’s favorite color and wear it to show your appreciation.
Thursday, May 10 – SURPRISE TREAT DAY – Please send in a surprise for your teacher…it can be anything you like to make them feel appreciated. You can surprise them!
Friday, May 11 – LUNCHEON (provided by the PTA) – Parent volunteers will cover the classes from 11:30-12:30, so teachers can enjoy a ballpark-themed lunch together. If you can help, please let your room parent know.
We love our administrative and resource teachers, too, so please plan to send them thanks if you can (a card or flower on any day would make them feel appreciated). We also hope to recognize them with $5 gift cards that are donated.
Thank you in advance for making the week special for all of our amazing TCES teachers!
